Business FAQs... How do I transfer an applicant who already has a certification to my company? ![]() Transferring a current CrimShield Certified employee is easy. Simply complete a transfer form for the transferring employee and submit it to CrimShield. There is a $10.00 transfer fee for each transferring employee. Transferring employees retain their unique CrimShield number and their original certification expiration date. Can I edit a picture in your picture upload section? Pictures can be edited for sizing purposes in the upload section. Do I need to have permission to run a CrimShield Investigation? CrimShield requires you to obtain and retain permission to perform an investigation on an employee. Do you have an authorization form I can use? CrimShield does have an authorization form that you can use. It is available to companies that have a CrimShield account for their business. Why do you ask for social security card and ID for some applicants? A vital step in every CrimShield investigation is the verification of identity. In cases where an applicant’s identity is in question, CrimShield investigators will require seeing and verifying these vital identifiers. How long does a typical investigation take? A typical CrimShield investigation takes 3-5 business days to complete. There are factors which may delay the time it takes to complete an investigation. These factors include, but are not limited to: incorrect application information, identity verification, court processing delays, weather delays, and records that need additional research or clarification with the court. What if I made a mistake on some information I entered? If incorrect information is entered, you can submit the correct information via email to docs@crimshield.com. Can an applicant contact you directly? Applicants that want to dispute the findings of an investigation are asked to communicate with CrimShield through their employer. If necessary, CrimShield Legal may contact an applicant to discuss specific areas of the investigation. What is CrimShield Criteria? CrimShield employs the following criteria to certify an applicant as crime free: • No felonies found in the past ten (10) years.* • No violent, theft, or drug related misdemeanors found in the past five (5) years. • No sex crimes found, ever.** • No crimes against children found, ever.** • No pending or looming legal action found which may result in a misdemeanor or felony conviction. • Have a United States Government issued identification card. • Current, accurate personal photograph. Some companies require additional criteria be met in order to achieve a certification. I was told our company had to get your certifications. What do I do now? For information on how to begin certifying your employees through CrimShield, send a request to info@crimshield.com. A member of the CrimShield team will contact you to assist in creating your account. Is online training available? Online training is provided to you to help familiarize you with the CrimShield process. There are also online videos that give you additional training opportunities. How can I market that we use CrimShield certified employees? CrimShield provides a number of ways for you to market your businesses use of CrimShield Certified employees. Online marketing is available at www.crimefreecircle.com, our online business and services directory for companies that use crime free employees. Approved logos are available in our media room (link). We also have auto window stickers and bumper stickers that promote you as a business that uses crime free employees. Can I use your logo on our website? Companies that use CrimShield to perform their background investigations can place our logo on their website. Go to the media room (link) to access approved logos.
